Solar Plexus Chakra: Build Confidence & Step Into Your Power

What is the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)?

The Solar Plexus Chakra, known as Manipura in Sanskrit, is located in the upper abdomen, just above the navel and below the ribcage. The name Manipura translates to “lustrous gem,” and that’s exactly what this chakra represents: your inner fire, drive, and personal power.

This is the chakra of confidence, boundaries, willpower, and self-discipline. When it’s activated and balanced, you feel clear, capable, and motivated. You know who you are and where you’re going - and you take aligned action to get there.

In the body, the Solar Plexus is connected to your digestive system, your gut instincts, and your core strength. It bridges the gap between your emotional body (Sacral) and your heart, helping you step into leadership in your life with both power and compassion.

But when this energy center is out of balance, you might feel overwhelmed, insecure, burnt out, or stuck in people-pleasing mode. You may also struggle to get things done, or push yourself to the edge in pursuit of perfection

Solar Plexus importance for wellbeing

This chakra teaches us that confidence isn’t about being loud: it’s about trusting yourself. Manipura is where action meets intention. When it’s balanced, you stop second-guessing, stop shrinking, and start standing in your truth.

Whether you’re stepping into a new role, launching something meaningful, or simply learning to say “no” more often, the Solar Plexus is your energetic ally. It’s the chakra that helps you lead from within, on and off the mat.
